QPR gave debuts to Danny Simpson, Karl Henry and Charlie Austin as Joey Barton made his first appearance since his red card at Man City 15 months earlier which resulted in a long ban before his loan move to Marseille.
Sheffield Wednesday took an early lead before goals from Nedum Onuoha and Andrew Johnson helped QPR to a 2-1 win.
Fast forward to 2019 and Mark Warburton had his first game as QPR manager away at Stoke City.
A new look QPR side featured 4 players making their debut: Jordan Hugill, Yoann Barbet and Luke Amos starting and Marc Pugh came off the bench.
Hugill grabbed his first QPR goal to give us the lead before an outstanding goal, resulting from great teamwork and individual skill by Eberechi Eze helped QPR to a 2-1 win.
Both these games saw QPR come up against a manager called Jones: Dave Jones was in charge of Sheffield Wednesday and Nathan Jones was leading Stoke.
