Our first game on this date was in 2005 when we travelled upto Hull for the opening day of the season. Peter Taylor's Hull side had Nick Barmby making his debut as a big name signing whilst QPR gave debuts to Tommy Doherty and Stefan Moore.

It was a hard-fought game where Paul Furlong was slightly fortunate to escape a red card; we earned a 0-0 draw and Hull fans took great delight in telling us we were a town full of bombers just a few weeks after terrorist attacks in London. Not the best idea from the locals.

This helped set up a fun journey home where Hull Trains left the buffet car open and saw all their booze stolen. I'm not sure by whom, but when police came into our carriage, they were greeted by several QPR fans drinking bottles of wine along with multiple cans of various lagers. 

The policeman sighed and said he'll be returning to check if there is any stolen alcohol after we leave Doncaster. As an aside there is a train to London on Platform 2, which suggested PC Hull Trains did not fancy having to deal with that nonsense. 

The train quickly emptied at Doncaster and we headed back to London in a drunken haze.

Can you tell the game was a bit dull.

In 2013 our League Cup campaign got underway with Charlie Austin and Danny Simpson scoring their first goals for QPR in a comfortbale 2-0 win at Exeter where defender Richard Dunne made his debut for QPR.

In 2022 Mick "Michael" Beale had his first home game in charge as we faced Middlesbrough at Loftus Road. Chris Willock scored a screamer to put QPR ahead before we raced into a 3 goal lead by half time thanks to goals from Jimmy Dunne and Lyndon Dykes.

Middlesbrough fought back in the second half with goals from Crooks and Forss to make it a nervy afternoon but it ended with a 3-2 win for QPR.
