Our first win on the 8th September came back in 1900 with a 7-1 win over Swindon. Jump forward to 1970 and QPR faced Cardiff in the League Cup winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Bridges, Saul, Marsh and a penalty from Venables.

In 1973 we played out a fantastic 3-3 draw at home to Stoke, with goals from Leach, Mancini and another Venables penalty.

In 1979 Fulham came to Loftus Road and suffered a 3-0 defeat, with goals from Paul Goddard, Clive Allen and Tony Currie as a young Steve Burke made his debut for Rangers along with a home debut for Tony Currie.

Our last win on this date was also 3-0 back in 1984 as we beat Nottingham Forest at Loftus Road with a double from Wayne Fereday and one from Gary Bannister.

We've not won any of the three fixtures played on this day since which include a 3-1 defeat at Manchester United in 1990, one of the worst games of football I've ever seen at home to Tranmere which finished 0-0 and a trip to Brighton in 2001 saw Bobby Zamora score a late winner for the side in a 2-1 win.
