Our first win on September 9th came back in 1911 with a 3-0 win over Reading.
In 1969 we faced Mansfield in the League Cup, and Terry Venables scored his 3rd goal for the club in a 4-0 win.
In 1975 we beat Shrewsbury away in the League Cup 4-1 with goals from Dave Webb, Don Masson, Dave Thomas and Mick Leach.
In 1978 Ian Gillard scored for QPR in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Loftus Road. We faced the other side of Manchester on this day in 1989 losing 1-0 at Manchester City with Clive Allen scoring the goal.
In 2000 we had a dull 0-0 draw with Preston before another draw in 2006, where Dexter Blackstock scored his first goal for QPR.
Our last win on this date was in 2017 when we faced Ipswich at Loftus Road, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Jamie Mackie and Luke Freeman.
